AI in Classrooms
AI is now in education and students are using it because it is easy and always available. Teachers have different opinions. Some teachers think it helps with productivity and grammar and also helps students who are weak in writing, but some think it will reduce thinking skills and make students lazy. This topic is important and everyone is talking about it.
There are positives, for example students can check language quickly and save time. In difficult assignments they can get ideas and structure. In some cases this is useful especially for non-native speakers because they can improve wording. Also AI can summarize information fast, and this can help when reading many sources. Because of this, students feel more confident when they start writing.
On the other side there are many negatives. If students depend on AI too much they will stop thinking and only copy. Also information from AI is sometimes wrong and students may not notice that. If a student submits text from AI maybe this is cheating, but not always because maybe they only used it for ideas. Rules are not clear in many universities.
Another issue is fairness and bias because AI may not represent all cultures. The system can give answers based on dominant views and this can affect ethical questions in education. If students trust everything from AI, then they may spread wrong ideas without checking sources.
In conclusion AI has benefits and risks. Universities should decide what to do and make policy. They can ban it or allow it with rules. I think they should allow with some limits because it is part of the future.
